The Weed Syndome

The Hebrew letter for the month of Shevat is Tzadi, which is actually a combination of the letters Yud and Nun. Yud is, whatever way you choose to see it: the highest possible, most powerful "name" of God, the creator and the energy of all creation. Nun is the fall; the energy that encompasses every fall -- fall from grace, fall from power, a physical fall, et al. So the combination of them is Tzadi which is a pretty powerful letter to meditate upon, especially this month where the energy is available to tap into and connect with the great Light force (Yud) to lift all of our falls (Nun). Anything we don't like in our lives that we want to change, now is the time that we can change it. We can do anything! And this time only comes around once a year. Now we realize while no challenge is too small for all those Aquarians we know and love, right?
Water is the element associated with Aquarius too and Kabbalists believe that water is the closest physical thing we can get to God's essence. It is (or was once and becomes again) pure. Most importantly though, it has the ability to nourish, like God, to change itself and change life around it. It feeds. It evaporates. It liquefies. It freezes. It condenses. Just another interesting fraction of Aquarius being more than meets the eye.
And speaking of "more than meets the eye," that is possibly the most important lesson of this month: That in changing our lives, in facing the challenges, in ridding ourselves of that which blocks us or imprisons us, that we remember it's always more than just the physical that we are looking to change. Ever had one of those "the hits just keep on coming" moments? You focus on solving one problem only to find that as soon as you do, another one pops up in its place. This is what I call the "weed syndrome." You can snap a weed or cut it, but it's always going to grow back unless you pull it out by the root. It's never the physical thing we're looking to change. It's not just that the car broke down or there's no money or the illness or the emptiness. These are only physical manifestations that all come from the same negative force of darkness. These are all fragments of being disconnected from the light. There's your root! But as long as we continue to see only the fragments of the physical world, operating on that level, our results will be fragmented as well and the "weed" we try so desperately to rid ourselves of on a day to day basis will always return.
Now is the time to dig deep, go beneath the surface and pull the multiple "weeds" in all of our lives out by its only root.
